Monday’s Washing Lines

Linked to Andew’s Monday Washing Lines here.

I knew if I looked hard enough I’d find at least one and here it is. Inside the walls of Diocletian’s Palace in Split, Croatia. I wonder if the washerwomen of 305 AD were hanging out their washing in the same way.

    1. Thank you. Sometimes one is in the right place at the right time. I was just amazed that there were people still living within these ancient walls. The continuity just bowled me over. I could have spent more time there immersed in the wonder of it all but there was so much to see on a short trip, we had to keep moving.

  1. Thanks, Jo. I’m quite chuffed with it now. Finding a reason for showing some of the old photographs makes a big difference as well. We’ve got a return of the cold weather today, just when I’d got used to the sunshine.

  2. It’s a lovely one, despite the things that you didn’t ‘see’ 🙂 🙂 Sometimes I see them afterwards too. Nothing like a fresh pair of eyes, which I know you don’t have. Sending hugs!

    1. I missed that! I’m still learning to ‘see’ things. I’ve always been a bit of a snap first then see what you’ve got photographer.
