A Sunday lunch with Spanish friends can never be silent, in fact it will be quite the opposite. We had enjoyed lunch with old friends in Arco and were driving back to Ronda when we turned a corner, and there was a scene of such solitude and calm that we paused by the roadside to savour it. There must have been birdsong and goats bleating, but I can’t remember any sounds at all.
It’s beautiful – I can sense the calm…..

Thanks, Sarah. I’m still having difficulty accessing your posts but I’ve now been into ‘the Vault’ (didn’t know I had one) and I see I’m down there to receive a Post from you weekly, I’ve changed that to Instantly as it used to be, so we’ll see what happens. I’m not holding my breath though.

It’s always good to hear from you but don’t stress about missing some posts!

Not great. Bad news last week about the eyes. The left one has now gone completely. But, I’ve still got one left!

I just happened to glance in my Spam folder (I get very little spam so only look there about once a month) and I found two comments or likes from you – one for this post. Why Spam, after all these years?

Odd! Have you set up any stopwords? A couple of people inadvertently blocked me because they blocked mentions of camper vans (Glasgow GalliVANter). Well they told me it was inadvertent!

You probably know the area, Jo. And there’s a sort of Portuguese connection in that the place was covered in cork oak trees.

Not well, Mari. I do need to spend time in Ronda at some point. How are things?
