Monumental Art in Salo, Italy, home of Mussolini

There’s not much to see there Marie, it’s more or less a gated-community of large villas, a very upper/middle-class area with a few cafes/restaurants. It was the home of the ‘Italian Social Republic’, a last-ditch puppet Fascist regime settled by the Germans who had rescued Mussolini from his mountain prison and restored him as ruler and where a lot of very horrible reprisals took place against the partisans.
