Agreed. Red must be a sacred colour – for the Japanese as well as the Chinese, perhaps?

I have so many Torii gates in the photo collection that it was hard to choose one but glad you liked this one.

I believe red is associated with good luck and long life (as in China), hence its prevalence in Japan. Glad you liked my reds!

Couldn’t agree more – and doesn’t it make the world look better when it rains, as it does so often in Japan.

I’m not sure I’ll be travelling very far in the future. Flying does not appeal to me right now. But plenty of places in the UK yet unexplored, though there won’t be the same opportunity for different post boxes.
