Life in Colour 24 -Red

Connected to Jude’s Life in Colour here.

It’s difficult to stop when you find so many reds but I think I shall have to stop now. These are the last few towards this month’s red challenge, and we are still in Japan.

Love the red temples! Japan always delights.

Yes, so much red in the buildings and streets of Japan, it was difficult to pick out a favourite.

Agreed. Red must be a sacred colour – for the Japanese as well as the Chinese, perhaps?

I have so many Torii gates in the photo collection that it was hard to choose one but glad you liked this one.

I really like (bright) red as a colour, and it’s always the British mailboxes and telephone booths that come to my mind when I think of this colour. I had no idea that you find such a lot of red in Japan. Learned something again from being on the Internet. 🙂

I believe red is associated with good luck and long life (as in China), hence its prevalence in Japan. Glad you liked my reds!

For me red is definitely the colour of Japan!

Couldn’t agree more – and doesn’t it make the world look better when it rains, as it does so often in Japan.

Fabulous final selection. And my first Japanese Post box!

I’ve never thought of photographing post-boxes until I was in Japan. What a pity because I shall never travel to the faraway places I did when I was younger and fitter, so I shall never have the chance now to photograph more post-boxes!

I’m not sure I’ll be travelling very far in the future. Flying does not appeal to me right now. But plenty of places in the UK yet unexplored, though there won’t be the same opportunity for different post boxes.
