Trump is awful. It’s easy to overlook a distressing truth: Trump is in power because American voters put him there. It’s hard to believe that so many people are misguided.

I see on the original that I wrote of glimmers of hope. How naive that was! He is even scarier this time round.

Good to hear from you, Mari, though I’m sorry to read that your eyesight and mobility problems are increasing.

Ces’t la vie, Anabel, ces’t la vie! At least my brain is still active and allowing me to rant a bit about things I can do nothing about now. Not even go on a protest march! I’ve just had an enjoyable hour catching up on Scaramucci’s last two Podcasts and he gives me hope for the future. Hope you are keeping well, I try and look for your blogs every so often as they no longer just pop into my inbox – so much more convenient.

I couldn’t agree more. The man wouldn’t exist if he didn’t have the backers and supporters he has, they are as much to blame. However, it’s still a mystery why so many people can’t see through him and see that he’s a menace to everyone not just those in his line of fire. Thanks for commenting.

That’s a very apt quotation for our times, unfortunately 😟

Pity it had to be Trump that got me back on WP! I miss blogging but my macular degeneration and a further decline in mobility has made it impossible to travel, even to London, and without my travel I seem to have nothing to say. Once you neglect the writing muscle, you quickly lose the ability to write. I still have hopes of one day finding a subject I care about, apart from politics which is not something I want to get involved with online, but I was never into the ‘personal’ style of blogging. Nice chatting to you again.

I’m sorry to hear your mobility has declined further. I know what you mean about personal blogging, it’s not my thing either. But I hope you rediscover your blogging muse as it’s always good to hear from you 🤗

Whatever happened to politicians? Nothing good, Mari.

I’m just so angry all the time, Jo, and not just with the politicians but with people I was fond of who seem to just follow the herd and believe all the lies that a secretion of the media feeds on. One of my younger relatives is so wrapped up in conspiracy theories that it is difficult to have a conversation now. It’s not so much what’s happened to politicians, it’s what’s happened to ordinary people who can no longer agree to disagree, who can no longer have a civilised debate and who no longer seem able to empathise with others. I’m just living inside my shell these days.

I’m afraid I mostly live in a bubble. I’m not sure that I have anything useful or relevant to add to the conversation most of the time, Mari xx

Apologies to those who have read this before. I re-blogged this post as it seemed even more relevant at this time, but I presumed that there would have been some indication that it was a re-blog.

That doesn’t appear to be the case and I’m sorry my return to blogging has been a mere re-blog.
