This time of year I stop with the daily weeding and excessive tidying, allowing the last of the summer plants to spread themselves and have a few weeks of freedom before winter comes.

I’m not sure if the photo of the chick I posted recently is a Mandarin duck chick but it came from the same source. I shall have to ask Robert about that and I’ll let you know. If not, I’ll get some images of the chicks to post.

My friend in King’s Lyn breeds them and I envy him the fun he has with them, from chicks to grown ducks.

How lovely! They’re among my favourites but I never heard of anyone breeding them. And I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a Mandarin duck chick, to the best of my knowledge. Do you have any photos buried in your blog somewhere?!
